Important: This document is a general information template and does not constitute legal advice. It should be reviewed by a qualified UK solicitor to ensure it reflects the company's current practices and circumstances.
These general terms are intended as general information for work agreed with BSure Roofing and Building Ltd. They should be read with your written quotation and project specification. Your statutory rights are not affected.
1. About these terms
These terms explain the basis on which BSure Roofing and Building Ltd provides quotations and roofing or building services to domestic and commercial customers. The written quotation, agreed specification and any signed contract form part of the agreement and take priority where they expressly differ from these general terms.
2. Quotations and scope
- Quotations are based on the information and access available when the site is assessed.
- A quotation is valid for the period stated on it. If no period is stated, please confirm that the price remains available before accepting.
- Work not included in the written specification is not included in the price.
- Hidden defects, unsafe structures, asbestos, rot or other conditions that could not reasonably be identified beforehand may require a revised price and programme. We will explain this before carrying out additional chargeable work.
3. Customer responsibilities
- Provide safe and reasonable access to the property and work areas.
- Obtain any planning permission, building regulation approval, landlord consent or other permission for which the quotation says the customer is responsible.
- Remove or protect fragile and valuable items near the work area.
- Tell us about known hazards, concealed services, asbestos or other relevant property conditions.
- Ensure that water, electricity and other agreed facilities are available where reasonably required.
4. Price and payment
The price, deposit, stage payments and final payment date will be set out in the quotation or contract. Payments must be made using the method and by the dates agreed.
- Any change requested by the customer may affect the price and completion date.
- We may pause work where an undisputed payment is overdue, after giving reasonable notice.
- Materials supplied remain our property until paid for in full, although responsibility for their safekeeping may pass to the customer once delivered.
5. Timing and delays
Any start or completion dates are estimates unless expressly agreed in writing as fixed dates. Roofing and external building work depends on weather, safe site conditions, material availability and events outside reasonable control. We will keep the customer informed of significant delays and take reasonable steps to minimise them.
6. Changes and cancellation
Changes to the agreed work should be confirmed in writing. They may result in an additional charge or revised timescale. Consumers who agree a contract away from our business premises may have statutory cancellation rights; see our Cooling-Off Period page. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.
7. Quality, defects and guarantees
We will carry out the work with reasonable care and skill and use materials of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose, subject to the agreed specification. Please notify us promptly of any concern and allow reasonable access to inspect and, where appropriate, put the work right. Any separate workmanship or manufacturer guarantee will be described in the quotation or guarantee document.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or breach of statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, neither party is responsible for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made. Business customers should request contract-specific terms appropriate to their project.
9. Complaints and disputes
Please raise concerns as soon as possible through our contact page so that we can investigate. We aim to respond fairly and promptly. If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, the parties may consider mediation or another suitable alternative dispute resolution process before court proceedings.
10. Law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers retain any mandatory rights to bring proceedings in another part of the United Kingdom where applicable.
